The sons of Japheth became known as the Japhethites, most notably was Javan whose children spread out by sea and formed communities with their own languages. The sons of Ham were known as the Hamites and their most famous son was Nimrod, the great hunter who founded Babylon. Semites are descendant from Shem including Peleg, Shem's great, great grandson who was so named because in his day the human race divided.
